Generally Speaking, A backup Adminsitrator is one who is responsible for backups and a individual who assigned for this task/Job should be smart enough in taking technical decisions, how when and why we are taking backup of a particular data.
Personal Expierences:
The company might use any of the backup solutions / software applications etc, if the backup is failing due to various configurations/ network etc then the first thing to be done is.
1. Arrange for disk space on other server or from CIFS share from Storate team,
2. Do not store the backup on the same disk (Server Crash might be very fatal and beyond recovery.
3. Map the shared drive on the server where backup failes,
4. Trigger NT backup and store the data on to the storage space or on other servers logical disk.
5. Decide till what time u need the backup, once the Tape backup issue is resolved then we can delete the .bkf files.
